Jerry Lewis Telethon Volunteers

Several members of the community responded to the call to assist the renown Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon that was held here in Houston on September 2 and 3, 2007. Volunteers came out to assist by manning the phones and providing various behind the scenes tasks:stuffing envelopes, validating pledges, etc. This picture was taken at the end of Day 1 of the Telethon. More volunteers (not pictured) came out to assist September 3. This year, the telethon raised a record $63 million dollars nationwide. Houston Caribfest is proud to have assisted with that endeavour.

The term Muscular Dystrophy is used to describe over 40 neuromuscular diseases that affect a million Americans of all ages. Please visit http://www.mdausa.org for more information on how you can help.
